Commitment to sustainability

At Mama Luna, we are proud to be the only true single-estate, farm-to-bottle rum producer in the Philippines, giving us full control of the entire process — from cane in the field to rum in the hand.

Zero-Waste Commitment

  • Every fibre of sugar-cane left after the stalk is harvested — commonly called “sugar-cane trash” — is collected and repurposed as biomass fuel to power our mill and distillery.

  • The remaining organic material in the fields is returned to the soil, enhancing fertility and promoting healthier land for future harvests.

  • The residue from the distillation process is not discarded — instead it is applied back onto our farms as a natural fertiliser, closing the loop.

Why This Matters

By managing the full value chain on our estate in the Philippines, we avoid long supply-chains, lower logistics and transport emissions, and ensure that every by-product has a meaningful reuse. This is not an add-on — it’s the foundation of how we operate. As stewards of the land, we are committed not just to production, but to leaving the land in better condition for the next generation.

Our Vision

To set a benchmark in tropical rum production: where quality, traceability and sustainability are inseparable. When you raise a bottle of Mama Luna, you’re supporting a cycle of cultivation, craft and care — for the environment, for our local community, and for the future.
